Design your own folder artwork instructions

4x9 Full Color Custom Artwork:

  • Step 1: Start out with your design that is 4” wide and 9” tall. This is the front of your folder.
  • Step 2: Extend the left side of the canvas by 4” so you end up with a canvas that is 8” wide and 9” tall. The front of the folder is the right 4” and the back of the folder is the left 4”. We recommend not putting text within 3/16” of the edges of the canvas.
  • Step 3: Extend your background image .25” on both the left and right side, so your folder content is still only 8” wide, but the canvas area is 8.5” wide. (We cut off this extra .5” in the process of making it into a folder)
  • Step 4: Extend the canvas up .25 so your folder content remains on the bottom 9”, but there is background image extending up the full 9.25”
  • Step 5: Extend the bottom of your canvas down 3.25 inches. This is the area that folds up to become the pocket inside the folder.

Your final image will be 8.5” wide by 12.5” tall, but everything needs to be precisely located on the page.

Once you have created this file, save a copy as a jpeg and email it to us so we can make sure everything fits. Once we have confirmed everything is correct, we will have you send us a high resolution copy of the file for printing.
